The Department has several community outreach programs that are unique and highly successful. Two of the programs were initiated by off duty officers over twelve years ago, and remain active with full support from community organizations. It is our intent to support programs that are practical and of real value to the citizens who participate in them. What follows are a number of programs and services that include our Gang Reduction and Intervention Program (GRIP) Classroom Program, Neighborhood Watch, Business Crime Prevention, Kids to Camp (youth camping program) and disaster preparedness training. The City of San Pablo offers its public programs and services in a manner that is reasonably accessible to individuals with disabilities. The City complies with all applicable requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and California law, and does not discriminate against any person with a disability. If any person has a disability and requires assistance or auxiliary aids in order to participate in departmental programs, please contact the Police Department as soon as possible for reasonable accommodation. The department currently has a County Juvenile Probation Officer working with Investigators and our School/Community Resource Officers. We launched a comprehensive juvenile intervention and diversion program through a cooperative effort with various juvenile justice agencies.
